PORT HURON – To celebrate the season of giving, State Representative John Espinoza (D-Croswell) will hold his annual Christmas reception on Sunday, Dec. 9, in Port Huron.
"The holiday season is the perfect time to get together and celebrate what a great community we live in," Espinoza said. "I am looking forward to meeting more residents and providing this opportunity for more members of our community to get to know each other. The more connected we are, the better we can work together to make the Thumb an even better place to live."
The gathering will take place from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Blue Water Labor Temple, 2441 W. Water St. Light refreshments will be served. Everyone is welcome to attend.
Residents are asked to bring a nonperishable food item; the food will be collected and given to area food banks to help keep local families from going hungry this winter.
"Donating food to our neighbors in need is part of the giving spirit of Christmas," Espinoza said. "It is important that we remember those who are less fortunate as we celebrate this holiday season."
